Triple elimination of the vertical transmission (EVT) of hepatitis B, HIV and syphilis will save thousands of lives each year. By simplifying access to testing for pregnant women, triple elimination enables timely interventions to prevent vertical transmission – the most common cause of chronic hepatitis B. WHA works to ensure that countries scale up access to hepatitis B interventions as part of triple elimination programmes to secure pregnant women’s access to these lifesaving services.
