Associate Professor Thomas Tu leads a research group at the Westmead Institute for Medical Research focusing on developing an HBV cure and mitigating the associated liver cancer. He also lives with chronic Hepatitis B, providing him with unique perspectives as a researcher, patient, and advocate. He established both the online support forum HepBCommunity.org and Hepatitis B Voices Australia, Australia’s first community group led entirely by people affected by hepatitis B.
