Tasha Miller

I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in the fall of 2014 at 23 years old and after one doctor failing to help me or speak to me, I made the greatest decision of my life by switching to one of most dedicated and kind doctor. I was deep in depression and getting worse the more bad news came my way. At the time there were only two cures available and one had denied helping me along with my insurance refusing to even think about helping unless I was in stage 3 fibrosis (found out later on that you couldn’t take the cure they were offering in stage 3) and in the summer of 2015 out of desperation I was on Viekira Pak Patient Assistance website and decided to email them begging to help me and my son who was only 2 years old at the time get his mother back. To my complete surprise Viekira Pak reached out to me in less than 12 hours of sending that email promising they will do everything they can to help me and also made good on that promise. I was cured by the end of 2015 and I remember my doctor telling me that I cured myself, all she had to do was sign papers, but I should be proud of myself for getting the cure through my own determination in less than a year of being diagnosed. My doctor also told me that because of my determination that many others had finally gotten help too from Viekira Pak.

My experience with having Hep C and my stubbornness to not let anyone tell me I can’t get cured is why to this day I still try to help in any way I can to help end Hepatitis C because I know firsthand how devastating and life altering having it is.

I will never stop supporting putting an end to Hep C because Viekira Pak gave me a second chance at life to make sure I do something good with it. I also shared my story for the first time since being cured with hepmag.com which was a big deal for me to finally go public and tell others my story in hopes to help even just one more person end a life suffering with the virus.
