Welcome to Hep Voice!

As we reflect on World Hepatitis Day 2025 and its rallying call to “break it down”, this issue of Hep Voice shows how our community is doing exactly that – breaking down barriers of stigma, inequity, and inaction to drive progress toward elimination.

You’ll find highlights from this year’s World Hepatitis Day, where members and partners across the globe mobilised to raise awareness, demand action, and amplify the voices of people living with hepatitis. The reach and creativity of these efforts remind us what’s possible when wecome together. The path to elimination relies on prevention.

On page 24, we introduce SAFEStart+, a bold new initiative to protect babies from preventable diseases like hepatitis B, while on page 22 we share a new hepatitis A briefing designed to equip advocates with the knowledge and tools to respond to a shifting landscape.

At the heart of elimination is community leadership, so in this edition we spotlight powerful examples from End Hep C SF in the United States, HealthDrive Nigeria, and United Way Mumbai, each showing how lived experience and grassroots action are driving change on the ground.

Looking ahead, November marks the second World Hepatitis Testing Week, a vital chance to build on last year’s momentum and keep testing high on the global agenda. And with the World Hepatitis Summit 2026 fast, approaching, now is the time to secure your place at this pivotal event.
