The World Hepatitis Alliance is proud to be a consortium partner of SAFEStart+.

SAFEStart+ is led by PATH and consortium partners WHA and ICWEA, with funding from Unitaid, and will focus on integrating high quality care into antenatal service delivery platforms across nine countries. By doing so, it will drive efficiencies while greatly expanding the reach of vital screening and treatment for women and babies.

WHA and ICWEA will lead efforts to design tailored models that break down barriers like stigma and gender inequity, build trust and drive uptake of services, advancing equity and human rights within health systems.

 

Kickoff event

The SAFEStart+ programme was officially launched at the Triple Elimination Conference in Kampala, Uganda on Monday 21 July. Jessica Hicks (Senior Director, WHA) and Lillian Mworeko (Executive Director, ICWEA) collaboratively presented the project, outlining its overarching goals, specifying the countries where work will be implemented, and detailing the anticipated outcomes and impact we aim to achieve.
