United Way Mumbai (UWM) has worked with 7,00,000+ unaware vulnerable community groups such as commercial sex workers, truck drivers, scrap yard workers, barbers, pregnant women, women in child bearing ages, etc. across Mumbai since 2010 for education, prevention and treatment of Hepatitis B and C. UWM through its projects ‘Yuvroshni’ (‘yuva’ meaning youth and ‘roshni’ meaning light) and ‘Pahal; (initiative) and SEHAT (health), brings together key stakeholders such as public healthcare systems, municipal corporations, college youth, education institutions, local community based organisations, corporates and the community to ensure a sustained and far reaching impact.
