Trinity Healthcare Foundation Nigeria has carried out a number of public health activities focused on viral hepatitis elimination in Nigeria as well as the African continent . Such activities include:
1. 2017 Viral Hepatitis symposium/awareness campaign in commemoration of the 2017 World Hepatitis Day in Nigeria. The two-day event which held on the 27th and 28th of July 2017 was carried out simultaneously in Lagos State (Southwestern Nigeria) and Adamawa State (Northeastern Nigeria). The event featured Awareness lectures, Free and voluntary screening and vaccination. Over 15,000 people benefited from the programme.
2. 2017 Viral Hepatitis B Awareness Programme for Rural Dwellers. Trinity Healthcare Foundation in a bit to promote awarness on viral hepatitis among the underserved communities in Nigeria organized a massive 5-day awareness campaign in 5 selected communities. The event tagged “KNOW HEPATITIS, ACT NOW!” featured lectures on hepatitis, free screening and free vaccination. Participants who were found positive were referred to the nearest specialist healthcare centres. The communities visited included: Ayobo, Ijegun, Ganye, Iyanapaja and satellite town all in Nigeria
3. Community Awareness on Hepatitis. In collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps, Trinity Healthcare Foundation organized a community based awareness/training program for community health workers in in some communities in Nigeria including Epe, Ikorodu, Ikotun, and others.
Our online presence and impact are enormous. Our website and social media activities on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc serve a wider audience and creating huge awareness on viral hepatitis at a global scale.
