Sediba Hope Medical Centre (SHMC) was established in 2012 as a non-profit corporation providing affordable, accessible, and equitable healthcare services to people working & living in the City of Tshwane, as well as health system strengthening services across South Africa, thereby contributing to the local and international health goals, and improving equity.
Sediba Hope Medical Center NPC (SHMC) focuses on prevention, brief treatment interventions for people who inject drugs (PWID), and decentralised care models for HIV, Hepatitis B, and C co-infected populations. SHMC has over a decade of experience with opioid substitution therapy (OST) programs and harm reduction interventions. SHMC extensive viral hepatitis activities and related work among key populations are central to its mission of providing affordable, quality healthcare. This is demonstrated through a comprehensive portfolio of research, publications, academic contributions, and advocacy initiatives, particularly for People Who Inject Drugs (PWID).
