Pre-eminent empowerment and development foundation

Pre-Eminent Empowerment and Development (PE&D) Foundation was officially registered in July 2024, a milestone that marked the beginning of their mission to improve the health and well-being of communities. As a newly established organisation, they have laid a strong foundation for impactful public health interventions and community engagement. One of their most notable achievements was conducting free Hepatitis B testing for residents of Hawan Kibo community in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. This initiative reached over 3,000 individuals, providing them with information and increasing awareness about Hepatitis B and providing Hepatitis B tests. Their efforts helped them to discover that about 15% of the population had been infected and about 90% had very limited knowledge of its transmission. In addition, the foundation extended its services to provide emergency assistance to accident victims within neighbouring communities. Their team offered immediate medical care, including treating injuries and providing emotional support during critical moments. These interventions reflect their vision and dedication to ensure a society where emerging health crises and auto crash tragedies are minimised, and individuals have access to comprehensive support. Despite limited resources, the PE&D Foundation has continued to build trust and try to foster partnerships to amplify its impact. Moving forward, they aim to expand their outreach, deepen our engagement with community leaders, and secure additional funding to sustain and scale our efforts, especially in providing free Hepatitis B vaccines for communities. They also advocate against discrimination of those who are infected within the state and conduct research on hepatitis B birth dose vaccination among babies within 24hrs of birth.
