HBVA was launched in November 2022 and focuses on Advocacy and Policy Development, Research and Training, Consultancy service and community engagement. In the financial year 2022-2023:
– HBVA has collaborated and presented in over 30 national and international conferences and workshops.
HBVA has established two Memorandums of Understanding with HepBCommunity.org and the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM).
It has collaborated on over 20 research and project grants and provided community-led contribution in the consultation process for the draft National [Australian] Hepatitis B Strategy 2022-30.
They have actively participated in 13 advisory group committees to provide critical community insights and expertise.
Some organisations and projects HBVA has worked with are Hep Australia, Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM), Queensland Hepatitis B Alliance Network, Burnet Institute, Rotary International, Doherty Institute, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Department of Health Victoria, and Victorian Hepatitis B Alliance.
