About Healthy Liver Initiative

The mission of this organisation is to ‘help people improve on lifestyles that will promote liver health and to reduce the morbidity and mortality rate from liver diseases in Nigeria and beyond its shores’. They have three main streams of activities related to hepatitis elimination. These include awareness raising through a weekly radio programme and online social media campaigns, screenings and vaccinations in select communities for HBV and local partnerships with hospitals and health foundations.

For World Hepatitis Day this year they organised a 1,000-man march and carried out screenings and vaccinations. They are also trying to develop an app that will connect hepatitis patients to medical professionals.
