Gabon SOS Hepatites officially registered in 2017. Their main objective is to promote the fight against viral hepatitis through awareness and encouragement of early screening. Gabon SOS Hepatites also guides patients to hepato-gastroenterologists, provide them with advice, and do their best to offer moral support. Awareness is crucial as it informs the public about the risks and prevention methods for viral hepatitis. By encouraging early screening, they increase the chances of effective treatment and reduce transmission. Guiding patients to specialists ensures they receive appropriate and personalized care. Finally, moral support is essential to help patients overcome the emotional and psychological challenges associated with the disease.
Together, these actions contribute to better management of viral hepatitis and reduce its impact on society.
They took a part in the World Hepatitis Day 2024:
– Awareness campaign on viral hepatitis and liver cancer. Free and voluntary screening for HBV and HCV at the Gabonese social emergency service.
– Broadcast on our Facebook and X pages of the poignant testimony of a patient with hepatitis B and high blood pressure, as well as sharing the experiences of patients.
