Education as a Vaccine (EVA)

Education as a Vaccine (EVA) is a non-profit, youth-focused organisation, founded in 2000. It is committed to advancing the health and rights of children, adolescents, and young people in Nigeria. EVA works through community-led approaches, policy advocacy, and strategic partnerships to address public health challenges, including viral hepatitis.

Education as a Vaccine (EVA) plays a central role in the national coordination of hepatitis elimination efforts in Nigeria. Serving as the Secretariat for the National Steering Committee on Hepatitis, EVA ensures strategic alignment and stakeholder engagement across both federal and state levels. As the fiscal host for project implementation in Gombe State, EVA supports DAPHO (another Nigerian member of ours) in managing state-level activities, particularly those led by the Community Advisory Board. We also coordinate the shipment and delivery of low dead space syringes and needles (LDSSN) and Direct-Acting Antivirals (DAAs) in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria. In addition, EVA ensures compliance with project protocols, provides monitoring and supervision to implementing partners, and works closely with national authorities to promote the scalability and sustainability of hepatitis services across the country.
