Dom Svetla Slovensko

The civic association Dom Svetla Slovensko is a non-governmental, non-profit organization whose main goal is to eliminate the stigmatization of people living with HIV in society, to advocate and promote their human rights and to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. The association is guided by the principles of non-partisanship, independence, transparency and non-discrimination in the pursuit of its objectives. As a civil association, Dom Svetla Slovensko has been actively involved in testing for sexual and blood-borne infections since 2017. They have their own testing Check Point where they offer anonymous and free testing for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B and C. They are also engaged in awareness, prevention and education activities.
Dom Svetla Slovensko are regular participants in Slovak PRIDEs, and they are also involved in testing in marginalized and socially excluded communities. They are involved in the topic of harm reduction in risky sex on stimulants (chemsex).
In the case of hepatitis C, for which they regularly test their clients and work with hepatologists in the event of a reactive test result and always advise clients of their treatment options in the event of laboratory confirmation of positivity. In 2024, they were able to conduct 2610 tests, of which 737 were for HCV. In case of a reactive result, clients were counselled and referred to a hepatologist for further testing.
