It was founded as the independent nongovernmental organization in 2006 in Zagreb by people infected with hepatitis. In cooperation with the expert community, and with guaranteed privacy and understanding, provides free assistance to the others who has been infected and a members of their families.
Hepatos-Zagreb is member of the League of patients with hepatitis of Republic of Croatia and European Liver Patients Association (ELPA).
In our project so far we have had a support from the City of Zagreb, Republic of Croatia – Ministry of Health, Andrija Stampar Teaching Institute of Public Health, National Foundation for Civil Society Development, World Health Organization …
The association has a president with viral infection, who successfully completed the therapy. Thus, the primary goal of the work is affirmative access, through the influence to the society in the aspects of prevention, early detection, destigmatization and warning that this could happen to anybody.
