Agago Action for Good Health–Uganda (AACT4G Health-Ug) is a community-rooted organisation based in Northern Uganda, with its headquarters located in Patongo Town Council, Agago District. Established and operating within this region, the organisation implements health interventions that address the specific challenges faced by rural and underserved communities.
Over the past nine years, AACT4G Health-Ug has delivered awareness, counselling, and advocacy programmes across the districts of Agago, Abim, Pader, Kitgum, Omoro, Gulu, and Lamwo—focusing on communities with a high prevalence of hepatitis B. Through strategic partnerships with District Health Teams, health facilities, and community structures, the organisation has established a strong presence and earned trust at both district and community levels.
Since its inception, AACT4G Health-Ug has remained committed to advancing health equity and improving the wellbeing of individuals affected by hepatitis B. The organisation’s work centres on strengthening public health systems, promoting equitable access to healthcare services, encouraging the adoption of healthy behaviours, and fostering robust partnerships with government and civil society actors. In addition, it provides communities with accurate and relevant health information to support informed decision-making, while advocating for fair health policies and inclusive legislation through research, networking, and strategic alliance building.
To date, AACT4G Health-Ug has reached over two million people through community dialogues, health campaigns, and outreach activities. Its long-standing collaboration with District Health Teams, health facilities, and grassroots structures has led to impactful interventions that enhance service delivery, reduce stigma, and increase uptake of hepatitis B prevention and treatment services. This strong track record positions AACT4G Health-Ug to effectively implement community-driven health initiatives and contribute meaningfully to the elimination of hepatitis B and other critical public health challenges in Northern Uganda.
