Community Impact Programme - e-learning

To strengthen our community voice and support our mission to harness the power of people living with viral hepatitis to achieve its elimination, we have introduced the Community Impact Programme (CIP) e-learning course.

CIP will help you become a more powerful force for change by giving you the knowledge needed to form your message, and the tools to deliver it – bringing both the head and the heart to your advocacy.

Take part in a range of e-learning modules, complete them in any order, and at your own pace. Remember to check in regularly as new modules will be released on a regular basis!

Community Impact Programme - accelerator

The CIP accelerator programme, based on the learnings of the CIP e-learning course, aims to improve your ability to advocate at a city, state and national level for viral hepatitis services and funding. It will do this through the achievement of four objectives

  • Develop your expertise in viral hepatitis prevention, testing and treatment.
  • Support you to empower civil society to fully engage with hepatitis and the wider health agenda.
  • Establish your advocacy skills to ensure you achieve results through strategic planning and implementation.
  • Elevate the voice of your community through impactful communications.

The next cohort

Hosted by a dedicated course trainer, advocates will take part in five online workshops, occurring every two weeks between September and December 2024. There will also be a face-to-face session as part of the Conference on Liver Disease in Africa (COLDA) in Cairo, Egypt, on the week of 16 September. The course begins on September the 3rd and spaces are limited, so make sure to submit your application by Thursday 6 June.

All members are eligible to apply but priority will be given to those members in the African region due to the content of the COLDA conference being focused on that region. Please note all sessions will be conducted in English and translations will not be provided. Applications close on Sunday the 9th of June and we will be back in touch by the 23rd of June.

The story so far

The first CIP accelerator cohort began in April 2024. Participants from 15 different countries worked alongside one another to develop their expertise and empower one another through the learnings on the course. The participants recently had a chance to meet in person at the World Hepatitis Summit 2024 in Lisbon, where they reflected on their advocacy journeys so far and discussed how to develop these strategies going forward.

The cohort concluded in June and a was large success for the learning, growth and development of advocates around the world.

“The training was very knowledgeable and informative. The advocacy toolkit provided during the training and practical tips participants shared have already begun to make a significant difference in my experience.”

“I have really increased my knowledge and have already organised a step down orientation for my staff. The new knowledge learnt during the training was shared with them for improvement of our innovations.”
