Pan African Workshop
17th - 19th January 2014, Côte d’Ivoire
Building capacity and strengthening patient voices are some of the Alliance’s strongest commitments. To this end we have joined with a committee of African patients to organise our first ever Pan-African workshop, titled ‘Unleashing the patient voice in Africa’, specifically for our African member groups.
The objective of this workshop is to create a unified patient voice across the continent, be a forum for experience, best practice and information sharing and, through practical workshops, build the capacity of patient groups in critical areas. To ensure accessibility for all attendees, workshops will be conducted in both English and French.
We are pleased to announce that representatives from 12 African countries have now confirmed their attendance. Participating countries are Algeria, Burkina Faso, D.R.Congo, Gambia, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Mauritius, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo and Uganda.
Keynotes speakers from the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health of Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal have also committed to supporting this event.
