Usually people do remember their important days such as: the
first day in school/university, the graduation, the wedding day, birth of their
child, that crazy vacation in Ibiza and keep those very strong, so when they
get old to have something to smile for.
People like me with hepatitis have to expand the capability of their brains and
add also: the day you understood you are positive, the day you received
the six
months protocol, given from Health department (HD) for free-of-charge
treatment; the day when HD canceled the second protocol for nonsense reasons,
the cases when you had no more pills, because the apothecary forgot to order
your medicament and you panicky call all your friends asking them to borrow a
few ; the first/last blood results; the third PCR, the second biopsy and above
of all- the day you sow dying 45 years old man from cirrhosis in the hospital.
That day you promised yourself you will fight as much as you can to prevent the
same destiny for you.
Therefore I started a new treatment, and that is why I was really, really
nervous about my first PCR result*.
I was walking outside on 18 of June, Friday at 09.58 AM and encourage myself to
call laboratory, so when I heard- “It dropped from 502 millions, to 18 500
copies… Congrats, you will continue” I bet my heart stops to beat for at least 20 seconds.
As I am sure I got seven brand new wrinkles from the wide smiles whole
day, but Gosh! what a
relief- it’s working and I am happy, happy, and happy!!!!
I will never forget that day! It was the perfect one!

*The requirements are reduced viral load by one log. - if you have like me
502 million, so the third month viremia must have fallen to 52 million. Otherwise,
the HD will designate you as "non-responder", and will stop your
treatment.
