Petar

My name is Petar, I am 45 years old. I live in Croatia, a small, lovely country in the south-east Europe. I found out that I have hepatitis B (HBV) approx. 14 years ago during a routine check-up. How did I get it...

It's been some time...

2/06/12

... since I wrote my last blog.
Well, I apologise but maybe it was for the best. Lots of things have happened since then. Some good and some bad.

As I said, maybe it is the best that I had a long pause because I was (again) angry and sad. I am often angry with bureaucracy and they have done (again) something awful. In my neighbouring country many patients were left without their dosage of peginterferon for some time. Why? Simply because two institutions who were responsible for getting it timely were careless and negligent – mild words to say that they did not give a **** about patients.
“No, it was not our fault, it was theirs,” “No, they are responsible, not we”, and similar statements were heard but it was no relief for patients.
Some of them (who had money) had to buy peginterferon despite the fact that they had full health insurance. Awful!

Other news – my pills are working fine, on my last lab test I was still undetectable and my AFP level is in the normal range.

The summer is knocking at my door. It means that I will probably spend less time on my computer and more outside (or at least I will try).

Till next time
