Petar

My name is Petar, I am 45 years old. I live in Croatia, a small, lovely country in the south-east Europe. I found out that I have hepatitis B (HBV) approx. 14 years ago during a routine check-up. How did I get it...

Sunshine,….

11/07/11
Just came back from the extended holiday.
I decided to spend a weekend on a nearby island, to completely relax. It was perfect. The summer is in full strength, the air is warm and the sea is pleasant (26 C). So we enjoyed in swimming, playing cards shaded by olive branches, eating delicious dishes, etc. I must emphasize the last one because this time we went to some “eco” restaurant – they were serving only natural food, either vegetables from their own garden or fresh fish from the sea. Nothing spicy or fat, just what I need to eat. Even the strudel for a desert was made from their own cherries. Simply delicious.

And the sea – it was crystal clear. I enjoyed every single moment in it. And during the noon when the sun was too strong we played cards or (when it was too hot even in a shade) we stayed in my friend’s air-conditioned house playing on a laptop one old strategy (HOM&M 3.5). Simple but funny and addictive game.
It was really hard to go back to the city, with the hot asphalt and the stale air. I’m looking forward to August when I will go there again.

But, what it has to do with hepatitis?
Everything and nothing.
I remembered that my AFP is back to normal and that the “beast” inside me is (for now) under control - that’s what makes me happy. Do I need more reason to be happy? I don’t think so.

Sunshine, sunshine reggae,...
